About the Transatlantic Doctoral Seminar

The German Historical Institute in Washington and the BMW Center for German and European Studies at Georgetown University, in cooperation with Villa Vigoni – German-Italian Centre for the European Dialogue, are pleased to announce the 26th Transatlantic Doctoral Seminar in German History, which is scheduled to take place in a virtual format June 16-19, 2021.  The seminar will be conducted bilingually, in German and English. All papers are precirculated ahead of time. The seminar will take the form of eight 90-minute panels, each of which will focus on two papers and will be moderated by faculty mentors. All panels will begin with two short comments from peers, followed by responses from the papers’ authors and general discussion.
